Skorpios Island
Scorpios is a small wooded island, which belongs to the complex of Prigiponissia (Prince Islands). It is located opposite the cosmopolitan Nidri. Skorpios became famous when the magnate Aristotle Onassis bought it in 1963. In an effort to build an earthly paradise, Onassis transferred and planted more than 200 different species of trees creating an admittedly impressive vegetation. Some of the beaches were created by Onassis, who brought sand from Salamis Island for this purpose.
